Remaining productive during downtimes

Uncategorized

I’ve been housebound the last three days due to family sickness which has interrupted my daily routine, but enabled me to do those jobs that get left til last anyway.  You know the ones, filing, tidying up the office, re-organising Word folders, archiving emails, etc.

I thought that in between nursing duties I wouldn’t get much done but have actually been more productive than I anticipated.  Ok, so I haven’t managed to start writing web copy for a new client which requires absolute peace and quiet and NO interruptions.  But I have made some progress with those mundane jobs mentioned above.  And I’ve managed to write this blog which is a bonus because I posted one on Monday and I normally schedule my time to do one per week.

Later, whilst the patient is either sleeping or quietly watching tv, I’ll catch up on some reading.  I’ve created a Word folder called “interesting docs to read” so will take some time out to catch up on SEO secrets, ideas on article marketing and may get through the latest issue of Nett magazine.

I may not have been productive working in my business, but I’ve certainly been productive working on my business.  What do you do when downtimes strike?  Why not email me ruth@purplechameleon.com.au.
